With a focus on both regenerative practices and responsible water stewardship, we protect and restore the ecosystems in which we operate.

Water is a valuable natural resource and a key ingredient in our products, while it is also essential for the cultivation of raw materials such as barley and hops. For this reason, we implement targeted actions to reduce water losses at our two production sites, in Sindos, Thessaloniki, and Ritsona, Evia. We optimise our operations at every stage of the production process, recycling water wherever feasible—for example, through the collection and reuse of water from bottle and can washing. At the same time, continuous and detailed monitoring of water consumption enables the prompt identification and mitigation of leaks and excessive use.

Agriculture provides the essential raw materials for the production of our beer, such as barley and hops. It is therefore no coincidence that agriculture is a core pillar of our sustainability strategy. By strengthening regenerative agricultural practices, we contribute to the protection of biodiversity, the improvement of soil health, and the enhancement of the resilience of our agricultural supply chain, securing the raw materials of the future.

At the same time, our suppliers—key links in our value chain—are required to sign and comply with the Carlsberg Group Supplier Code of Conduct, which sets clear and specific standards for collaboration. Among other requirements, all suppliers must comply with environmental legislation and international standards (e.g. ISO 14001) by implementing an effective environmental management system.
